I have just installed Win8.1 and ClassicStart Menu (4.0.0)

With the Windows taskbar setting to "AutoHide" the taskbar appears only when the mouse enters the area BESIDE the Startbutton.
Entering the area of the (hidden) Startbutton doesn't make the taskbar pop up anymore, though it's still possible to klick there to open the Startmenu, it drives me mad not to see the taskbar and startbutton anymore when aiming directly at this region.

I think this has to do with the new Win8.1 (Metro-)startbutton which would normally appear there...

Is this a known issue / is there a possible solution ? Thank you!

This was not reported until now. I will investigate over the weekend.

Correct observation indeed. Only if a custom Start button is set, then the auto-hidden Taskbar shows again with the pointer shoved in the bottom left corner, but not with the built-in Windows 8.1 button.

Thank you GauravK - the problem can really be solved simply by replacing the original Win8.1-start button in "Settings - Start Button".

Please try the latest version 4.0.1. It should fix this issue.

For some reason, my Windows 7 taskbar will not auto-hide anymore. It is displaying the same behavior on 3 different installations of Windows 7. Perhaps the Win 8.1 taskbar fix broke the functionality in Windows 7?

It is unlikely. I am using Windows 7 and auto-hide works just fine. The new changes for auto-hide are specific to the Windows 8.1 start button.

Ivo, thanks for the reply. I got auto-hide working again by a reboot. Guess it has something to do with my AV or setup, but whatever the case, it's working now. Thanks for providing Classic Shell. I can't stand using Windows without it.
