Hey,

Running the Metro Skin. Interested in customizing Special Items->Computer. Specifically, I'd like to get a separator between the drives and my user directories (desktop, docs, downloads, ...etc.)

Also, are Display as a menu and Display as a list of drives malfunctioning. They both produce the same results. Seems to me the latter option should filter out the user drives.

thx

Display as a menu makes the drives and subfolders expand as a menu. Display as a list of drives shows it without further expanding them as cascading menus.

It is not possible to easily add a separator in the current version of Classic Shell's Start Menu. Doing so requires several customization steps to add custom items meant only for advanced users.

Still you could try. Download the XML file attached below and store it somewhere on your PC. Then open Classic Start Menu Settings and click the "Backup" button -> Load from XML file. Load the XML file and preview the contents of the Start Menu by clicking the Start button without clicking OK in the Settings dialog. Check especially the This PC folder. If the menu seems fine, click OK.

Basically, how the XML settings file does it is using custom sub-items.

The downside of this method however is that your This PC folder becomes static. Any added drive letters may not appear until you add them from Customize Start Menu tab.
