Hi,

I have a problem using Classic Start menu 4.2.1 on Windows 8.
I often got the start menu pop up as if I was pressing the "windows key".
It appears while I am playing games, watching movies and even while doing nothing.

I would have think that it might be cause by accidentally pressing the "Windows key" or putting the mouse over the start button as I read in some posts,
but it also occurs when I am away from my laptop.

Right click the Start button -> Settings. In Classic Start Menu settings, check "Show all settings" and check what the options are set to on the Controls tab.

Maybe Hover is set to open the menu. If yes then disable it. The menu should not open randomly on its own.

Thank you GauravK but "Hover opens" was already set to "nothing"

Only "Left click" and "Windows Key" were set to opens "Classic Start Menu".

I just set the "Windows Key" to "Nothing" to try but I'm quite sure it occurs even I press on nothing (away from my laptop).

Is it possible it is activated by the touchpad or some other input device?

Hello,

I tested uninstalling Classic Shell and in fact even I still got the problem.
So it is probably not related to Classic Shell.

Sorry, I should have tested this at first :s

I finally found the culprit : Asus Screen Saver.

Sorry for accusing Classic Shell which is really a great tool.
(uninstalling it for test remind me of how awful is Windows 8 basic ).
