Instead of installing complete Classic Shell, what I just need is the Status Bar showing "Disk Free Space" on the bottom left of File Explorer window. Is there a registry hack for this? Thanks.

You can install specific components of classic shell from the installer. Install only the Classic Explorer and you can then remove the explorer toolbar (see the FAQ on how to do that) which leaves you with very minimal changes aside from the ones you want. You can configure all you want from "Classic Explorer settings".

Once you install Classic Shell, you are required to pick from 3 choices of start buttons. I don't want to do that for Windows 10 because I quite like their Start Menu now. Don't get me wrong, I have been using Classic Shell for ages now with Windows 7 and 8 and it has been great. I am still using it for Windows 8.1. With Windows 10 preview I miss the status bar of Window XP. Thanks for your suggestion anyway.

Jcee,
Oh ya, you're right. I installed on Build 10074 with only classic explorer. Got it, thanks.

@spdif10, btw what is it about the Windows 10 Start Menu that you like? Personally, I cannot stand it. It is a small subset of the Classic Shell Start Menu. The only unique feature it supports is pinning huge space-wasting Tiles on the right side. What you can pin on the left side in Classic Start Menu too, except Live Tiles which are not of much use either because their apps suck so much! The Cortana powered search is slower and less efficient too (doesn't show comprehensive search results right away). The other redeeming quality is it can function like a pseudo Start screen but the Windows 8 Start Screen implementation was better than 10's. The Tiles all have to be pinned manually too. An App tile doesn't appear there when you install the app from the Store (which was the case in Windows 8).

I am a Windows enthusiast and helped a little with Classic Shell's testing and usability/UX feedback.
