I want to choose the custom Start button option but I'm not sure what size I would need.

Its not too hard to change, if you think its too big/small
Though anywhere from 40 to 65 seem appropriate for most buttons


Unless you are asking what size the image should be? I would recommend somewhere between 48x144, and 300x900 for most buttons.
Just remember the image is split evenly(vertically) into 3 different 'states' (pressed, unpressed, and hover)
