Let me ask here for win 8.1 appearance help. How can i change menu lines' height? I changed menu size and menu font but there's still much empty space between lines. Cnanging MenuHeight in WindowsMetrics register had no effect.

You must change the padding by editing the skin to change the menu lines height.

1. Download and install the freeware, Resource Hacker from this site: http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/
2. Copy the skin which you are using from C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\Skins to some other location such as Desktop and rename it. Renaming it is important so it doesn't get overwritten when a Classic Shell update is installed. Note that for Windows 7 style, the skin extension is .skin7 and for Classic style, the extension is .skin.
3. In Resource Hacker, open this skin. You might need to edit the values of:
Main_padding
Main2_padding
Main_text_padding
Main2_text_padding

2 suffix means second column values.

The four numbers for each setting are the padding added to the left, top, right and bottom.

4. Click Compile Script and save the skin and copy it back to C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\Skins. Switch to the newly edited skin from the "Skins" tab in Start Menu Settings.

I wont start new topic.
I use menu with 2 columns and i set max recent programs to 30 or 20 but menu contains only 15 of them. Look at the picture.
I use version 4.1.0
Any suggestion?

The top two are pinned items. As you launch more programs using the Start Menu, the list will show 20 items.

I know about pinned recents. Sometimes i can see more recent programs but it seems classic shell doesn't have much memory because soon or later the oldest recent disappear.

Only the last 20 recent items are remembered.

If you change the large icon size from 32 to 24 on the "Menu Look" tab in Settings, you might be able to fit all 20 recent programs at your screen resolution. More than 20 is not possible.
