Tried to install a simple freeware file shredding utility on my Win7 64 system:
http://www.fileshredder.org/. The install process hung as it tried to register an addition to the Windows File Explorer context menu (the install never completed successfully). Attempted uninstall of the utility had similar problems.
Completely uninstalling Classic Shell fixed the problem - I was able to install the other program, after which I was able to re-install Classic Shell, the added context menu item remained.
Seems like Classic Explorer might be preventing other programs from installing File Explorer context menu extensions.
Is there any way to temporarily disable Classic Explorer without having to perform a complete uninstall of Classic Shell?
Thanks!
