What kind of help do you need? If you installed Classic Shell, it will ask you for the style of the Start Menu - click on the image of the style you want to use and click OK and you can use the Start Menu right away. To access any settings again, you can right click the Start button.

Every setting is explained by tooltip help. Hover over a setting to see the help. On the Customize Start Menu tab, you can change what items show in the right column of the Start Menu. The rest of the settings are quite advanced, you don't necessarily have to set them.

To search for a setting related to the Start Menu, open its settings and use the search box at the top of the settings window.

To search for Windows settings, type directly in the Start Menu search box.

When you install Classic Shell, you will get a dialog like this:

Click Windows 7 style there and then click "Select skin...". Then pick "Windows Aero" from the drop down and click OK.

This is as Windows 7-like as you can get it. However, the user interface of Windows 10 has changed a lot from Windows 7. You can't make it like Windows 7. Many settings are moved to the Settings app and the apps and notification area/tray applets are completely different.

With Classic Shell, you get a Start Menu like Windows 7. However the rest of the UI will be considerably different from Windows 7. No way to change that unless you move back to Windows 7.

That should be all that's needed to get reasonably close to windows 7's style (it actually defaults most the settings towards that anyways)

My steps assume classic shell is running, have you installed it? If-not install it from http://www.classicshell.net/downloads/latest
Run the file, select next/yes until its installed, then click on the new button in the bottom left of your screen

What do you see when you right click the button on the bottom left? are you using a mouse?

Blue screen? Is the below what you are referring to? If-not Maybe a screenshot will clear this matter up, if you could post it?
Also on what step is the screen coming up, when you install, when you try to click the button?

The name of the Classic Shell skin that looks closest to Windows 7's build-in start menu is called "Windows Aero". You can select it from the "Skin" tab in the settings.
It works best when combined with the "Windows 7" start menu style from the "Start Menu Style" tab.

press Windows + PrtScn on your keyboard. Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 will store the screenshot in the Pictures library, under Screenshots.

Use the "Windows 8" skin. It is not exactly the same but very close.

One is rounded the other has sharp corners. Try all the skins and pick the one you like best.

Why? Does not "Windows Aero" skin work for you? Windows Aero is the only skin that is designed to make your start menu look like Windows 7.

Save this file
right click your start button, and select backup then Load from XML
Browse to this file and select it.
That should make your start menu as close to the screenshot as possible

To change the button, download the image from this post; then right click the start button and select settings. Then near the bottom check 'replace start button' click custom, and pick image then browse to the file you just downloaded from here.

For the colors go to the settings page type 'color' then change the bottom 2 settings (menu glass color, and Taskbar color)
