When running Classic Shell, but without replacing the start button, the start button on the taskbar is off by 1 pixel. I've noticed this problem for years, but didn't really mention it before because generally speaking, I would replace the start button anyway. But I'd like to know if it's possible to somehow fix this with a setting, so that I don't need to actually replace the start button at all, since I like the Windows 8.1 one and like that it follows the start screen colour.

The top image is my taskbar without Classic Shell on. The bottom one is with Classic Shell on, but without replacing the start button. As you can see, it's shifted to the left by 1 pixel.

Thanks for any advice.

This is on purpose. I don't remember the exact reason, but it had something to do with tricking the Metro start screen to not show up when it otherwise would.

That's unfortunate. Is there any way to make a custom start button follow the accent colour from the start screen then?

I know this is a few years later, but could you tell me what part of the code moves the start button 1 pixel to the left on Windows 8.1?
