Thanks for that info. I just checked my laptop, where I have Windows 10. I notice that I am running Classic Start 4.3.1. on it. And it indeed has that feature. So that must be what I was remembering when I asked the question.

Sorry to bother everyone.

This is a case of brain fade. I know that there is a way to change the color of the taskbar with Classic Start Menu 4.2.5. I am running it on Windows 7 Pro (64 bit). I am running the Classic Style. I do not use a skin. On the Settings for Classic Start Menu 4.2.5 page, 'show all settings' is checked...

I'm not sure whether this is a Classic Shell issue, or a Windows one, but thought I would start here. I use Classic Shell Ver. 4.1, Classic style, on a Windows 7 Pro SP1 (64 bit) computer. Every time I install a new program, all files that have NOT been opened are highlighted in orange (see file att...

GauravK: Thank you SO SO MUCH! That solved all the problems I mentioned, as well as a couple more that I had not. I printed everything, so hopefully next time it won't occur. I guess it was just too long ago that I set up Classic Shell on my laptop. And I do really need to find a primer on all of Wi...

I have Classic Shell 4.1.0 installed on two Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) computers. One is a laptop, which I have had for a couple of years. The second is a desktop that I just had built. There appears to be a big difference in what is seen when I open Explorer, and also when I create a shortcut. Perhaps ...

What program are you using here? Is not Classic Shell Explorer settings.

Horst & GauravK: Thanks for all the information. After testing the various combinations, I decided to use the following three: 'Disable full row select' 'Column headers in all views' Enable icon reordering' They gave me what I was looking for. GauravK:

Thanks a lot. That did it. I certainly would not have thought to look there!

I have no idea how the color I had was selected. My two other computers have what I assume is the 'default' of Red=192, Green=192, Blue=192.

I have Classic Shell on my Win 7 Pro laptop, and just bought a Win 7 Pro desktop. For Classic Shell I uploaded the 3 .xml files. For Windows I transferred my Themes. Now I have all of my settings and colors exactly like I want EXCEPT for one. [My Shell Start Menu colors are correct, as are all of my...

@Horst, try the app called Folder Options X. It will reduce the spacing by forcing the older ListView control in Explorer (except for Libraries): http://free-sk.t-com.hr/T800/software/FolderOptions.htm I downloaded Folder Options X, but I am not sure what to select, since there is no Help with it. ...

I have used Classic Shell for several years. I find it indespensible with Windows 7. I am now up to Ver 4.1.0. I have had a problem in Classic Explorer ever since I installed it. The Toolbar icons are displayed as they should be, but there is no text displayed below it. [See CShellText.jpg, attached...

GauravK: Thanks SO MUCH for the detailed info. It was obviously not clear to me. I put text in the Tip fields, downloaded the icons.zip file, got exactly the icons that I want, and now everything works great. And thanks for doing testing on the program. One reason Classic Shell works so well. Harry
