The start menu expands when I hover over the button - I like that. But can it be made to retract automatically?

What do you mean? If the menu disappears when you move away from the button, how are you going to use it?

i assume he wants the menu to disappear when you move the mouse off of the button OR the menu. then the menu disappears

That would make the menu quite hard to use. If you move the mouse slightly the wrong way the menu will close and you have to start over.

+1 for this idea. I find the start menu opens up quite often accidentally, so it's good if you could get off the menu by hovering off. :cry:

If it's opening accidentally, then you can increase the hover delay or set it to open by click.

Did that. I found I still got the issue even after increasing hover delay slightly. But if I increase it too much, I might as well leave it on click.

I wonder if I will have to resort to a macro.
