Hi. With no apparent cause or trigger, the customizable section of my Classic Start Menu has shrunk to a visible height of 0 icons. That is, the several items I've dragged there are still there but all that's visible is the 2 scroll arrows. Screenshot attached. (I know the menu items are still there because I can press their first letter and open them; also, if I hover over the scroll arrows, one of those items appears, flickering.)

I uninstalled and reinstalled (4.2.5), with no change. Other than this, the PC hasn't had anything else installed or removed recently.

This is Windows 10 Home, 64 bit, with plenty of RAM, and I'm using the 'Classic' style of Start Menu.

Any clues appreciated.

Mark

This will happen if the menu thinks the screen is only this big. Is there room above the menu? If you open a sub-menu like Programs, does it extend above the arrows?

Ah interesting. No, there isn't any room -- it's a very small laptop. But it was never an issue until a few days ago and nothing on the menu changed (nor did the display resolution). As I recall the entire menu, not just the customizable portion, was bounded by scroll arrows. Did I accidentally tweak a setting that allows or disallows those?

PS: And submenus (that fill more than the screen height) spawn extra columns to the side, not scroll arrows.

No, the Programs and the items below it don't scroll. They never have.
Possible things that may have happened:
* The DPI was changed, increasing the font size and leaving room for fewer items. I don't think you should use large DPI value if the screen size is so limited
* The menu style may have been with two columns. Then most of the left column will scroll. Look at the Menu Style page in the settings for the available styles
* You added more items to the menu by enabling Help, Run, or some other menu setting

Thanks for this. I think what happened was, I changed the icon size (for a projected presentation) and that increased the menu item height to a critical point. Just removed Help and Run and now I can see the menu items. Thanks again for the clarifications.
