Hi,

i have win 8.1 installed, downloaded CS 4.1 and it causes the system to freeze when I try to open the stat menu

I have tried to exclude it in my Avast protection (even turned off Avast for awhile) and it still freezes.

I have disabled "Highlight new installed" and disabled Windows updates on shutdown in the CS settings.

I have uninstalled CS and when I did, the system ran smooth, but I want classic shell installed! When I reinstalled, the problem kept going :/

Please help!
and thank you

Have you customized the menu any? IE does it freeze in the default state? if you've added any network items, there is often a long delay before classic shell can read them (causing an apparent freeze)

Use the instructions here: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=6
to capture a crash dump while Explorer is frozen.
