It can be uninstalled from Control Panel -> Programs and Features. There is no requirement to use Revo Uninstaller or third party tools to remove it. After you remove it, it returns Windows to how it was, reversing all its effects, only the settings will be left in the Registry at HKCU\Software\IvoSoft.

Yes it is better to install it and then use the official way to uninstall. I have no idea what method Revo uses.

Revo launches the normal uninstaller and then it allows you after that runs to remove reg links that are left over, it creates a full system restore point. I asked him if he removed the reg links he said he did that there was only two in there. so maybe its fine?

If it appears that everything is OK, you can leave things as is.

Hi Ivo yes it looks all right i might give it another try maybe i will get use to it there again the thing i could not figure out was the color was off and it did not show programs x86 or programs in the menu it looked incomplete that is why i also removed it if you could point me on how i could get these to show and how i can get the color to match my transparent task bar i will give it another go around. I also could not figure out how to get back to the start screen with it installed, so with these few things if you could tell me how to fix i will give it another go around :).

The Start Menu color and transparency are more closer to the Taskbar color and transparency if you download and install the Winaero skin: http://winaero.com/blog/get-the-best-lo ... -skin-2-0/

To get back to the Start screen with Classic Shell installed, either hold down Shift and click the Start button/Shift+Win key or open the menu and click the "Start screen" link inside it.

Even on old atom chips with 1gb of ram, the startup impact is negligible. It hardly uses any system resources to run either. (Mine takes 1.4 Mb of ram while idle).

got a similar problem today with my new win 8.1 installation. Installed classic shell completely as first program and after recognizing, that also the explorer was changed to the windows vista design, i wanted to remove that. So I uninstalled the programm and deleted the Registry-Setting files as described here: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2778&hilit=classic+explorer+win+8+uninstall

But the vista design in my explorer is still alive! How can I remove that and return to the win 8.1 explorer design without going back to the system restore point (before installing any program on the PC)??? Thanks for any help!!!

What do you mean by 'vista design?' is there a V shaped button on the top row, just below close/minimize/maximize?

A screenshot might be helpful

oh, I'm sorry. I mixed something really up. I thought, the Win 8.1 explorer design was like the vista design because it looked a bit different (icons, font) from the explorer design of my Win 8.1 notebook. But there I installed a different design.
So, only good news are left: don't need to use the system restore point, explorer design is fine, classic shell can be reinstalled and used again for start menu :)
Anyway, thanks a lot for your support!
