Hi,

I have changed my folder icons in windows to blue ones, when I select the default windows menu they are showing fine, however if I use the classic menu of classic shell they are showing up in yellow. Any way to tell classic shell to use my default system icons ?

Thanks in advance

Classic Shell uses whatever icons the OS provides.

What version of Classic Shell are you using? What style?
And how have you changed the icons?

Thanks for your quick response

I'm using Classic Shell v4.0.0 and I have patched my icons with this: http://heebijeebi.deviantart.com/art/Gnome-Colors-Patcher-140991320

As I said earlier, if I uninstall Classic Shell the icons shows up correctly.

If you open Notepad, then go to File -> Open, do you see the blue folders or the yellow?

Also, what does uninstalling Classic Shell have to do with anything? Are you saying that when it is installed, it affects the icons elsewhere in Explorer?

Hi, when I open notepad the icons are blue.

If I uninstall classic shell I have the blue icons in the start menu folders as it should, if I install classic shell I get yellow icons as folders.

But if Classic Shell is installed, the Windows 7 start menu still shows blue, right? You can access it with Shift+Win or Shift+Click.

Try this mhoude. Right click the Start button and click Exit to quit the Start Menu. Then go to %appdata%\ClassicShell and delete the Datacache.db. Now start Classic Start Menu again from C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\ClassicStartMenu.exe. Now does it show your customized icons?

In Classic Shell 4.0.4, this problem is fixed so after changing the folder icon, it will be shown in the Start Menu instantly.
