Love the program, but... apperantly files are opened/executed with a single click.
I had the my default explorer configured for double clicking to do so, and would like to have Classic Shell to do the same. Is that possible?

Classic Shell's Explorer addon does not affect single or double click in the files pane. Go to Folder Options from Desktop Control Panel and set that from the General tab.

If you mean the folder pane/tree view/navigation pane, set it to Windows XP Classic or Windows Vista navigation pane style so folders will only expand by double click.

Hmm, I have:
- Control Panel --> "Folder options" I have set "Click items as follows" to "Double-click to open an item (single-click to select)"
- Settings for Classic Explorer 4.0.0 --> Navigation pane --> Navigation pane style to "Windows XP Classic"

Still a single click on for instance a .txt file, immedialtly opens the file with my favorite editor...

Any other options?
(I'm running Win7, haven't had time to reboot though. I just installed this program...)

How are you opening the file, I mean where is it located? On the desktop or in some folder? Are you opening it via the Start Menu -> Recent Items or via Windows Explorer?

I'm talking about exporing my pc, with on the left (navigation) pane among others my disk drives.
If I, for instance, click on the left pane on the C drive, on the right pane appears the content. Then if I single click on a file or directory in the right pane, the file is immediatly opened with its default program. So single click on a .mp3 file starts WinAmp, and the song is played.
As clarified in the first reply, this is a setting within Windows itself, but it appears to me that this feature from MS is not copied to the Classic Explorer...

(I'm trying to get a screendump in this reply, as seen with other messages, but I only see a button here to insert an image by its URL..!?)

Ok, then it is not something that Classic Shell is affecting. It does not affect double click/single click in the right pane. That Windows setting handles it but for some reason, it is ignoring that setting on your PC.

Classic Explorer is just a plugin for Explorer, not a full replacement. :)

Well, I believe I found a solution, though not sure how the "hick-upp" occurred...
I did uninstall the "Classic Shell" program, rebooted, and found out that I STILL had the problem that single-click in the right explorer pane activated the program or opened the folder.... Something what NOT was occuring before I installed this program! Also found that the option to enable single-click in folder options was greyed out!? After some Googling, I came up with a registry entry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\ClassicShell. This key was set to 1 on my system, and setting it to 0 apperantly cured my problems.
Could it be that installing (the first time) this program, it had modified this key?
Or was this just a case of "mysterious ways of Microsoft" ...!?

I believe that registry key has nothing to do with the Classic Shell software. The name is just a coincidence.
Maybe you turned it on from the policy editor trying to enable some Classic Shell feature?

Yes, Classic Shell does not change system policy settings. So you yourself might have done some registry tweak, enabled the policy or some other tweaking app installed on your system did it.
