I have been having problems with my explorer.exe taking up 25% of the CPU and hanging and I was wondering if it had anything to do with Classic Shell. There is supposedly an updater in the Program Files folder (from what I read in the FAQ), but I see no such program in there. My version was installed in 2011 with this setup file: ClassicShellSetup_3_1_0.exe. Was an updater included as an option at that time? I would like to update my ClassicShell, if it hasn't been doing automatic updates. I opened the setup file and there was a Repair option, so I ran it...does that update the software?

The updater simply checks for a new version and offers to download it. You can do the same manually. Get the latest version from here: www.classicshell.net
You can install the new version without uninstalling the old one.

Okay, thanks, I'll backup the settings just in case.
