Currently, closing a Windows 8 App forces the user into the Start Screen. The ideal behavior would be to give the option to the user to always return to the traditional desktop, much like skipping the start screen on login.

i would love to be able to have this, especially since most new apps are geared towards the metro UI, it would be really awsome if metro apps could be run in windows (and im sure someone will likely figure this out eventually)

the ability to doc a metro app to the 1/5 side of a screen shows real promise though, especially since it can be used in the desktop environment. (although ive yet to find a metro app ive liked, eventhough i havnt looked to hard

itd also be nice if non-metro apps could be docked to the side this way (instead of just snapping them to the side, then adjusting them to be thinner)

sorry if this is a bit of a hijack :P, i view it more of an expansion upon your suggestion

My request appears to be a duplicate of this request: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=26

Which was rejected because the developers of Classic Shell don't want to hook to app close events. I can respect that.
