First of all, I am incredibly technilogically impaired, please keep this in mind when responding.
My request is simple, I hope. I took my computer in to a tech a while back to have some malware removed and they updated my start menu and cleaned things up nicely. Before I took my computer in, I made use of the keyboard button with the windows symbol on it quite a bit. If I was in a game or some program that was difficult to minimize, I could hit the windows key and it would bring up my start menu or desktop and I could swith over from one to the other easily. After the repairs, this key does not function at all. I looked up how to enable it and followed the instructions, it would work the first time and then not work again. I was able to ask the tech, in passing, how to get this working again, I really don't think he had a clue what exactly I was referring to because he talked about my old start menu with the tiles .. not what I want. I just want my little button with the windows logo on it on my keyboard to do what it did before. He told me to download classic shell but explained nothing to me about it. So far, I have classic shell and I don't have a clue what it means, how to make it do anything and my windows button still does not function.... please someone tell me how to make the windows key work like it did sonce I got the computer and before the tech went and changed I have no clue what....

Right-click on the start button and select Settings. Then click on "Show all settings" at the top. Go to the Controls tab, and look at the setting called "Windows Key opens". Set it to either open the classic menu or the built-in Windows menu, whichever you prefer.

BTW, if you have Classic Shell currently installed, and you don't know what it is and you don't want it, you can certainly uninstall it from the Programs and Features page of the Control Panel.
