Sure. Open Classic Start Menu settings, check "Show all settings" checkbox at the top.

Go to the "Search Box" tab and select the "No search box" option.

Oh! I misread. Sorry. No it's not possible to disable the search box in the Windows Start Menu using Classic Shell.

Why do you want to use the Windows Start Menu instead of the Classic Start Menu?

You mean like this button? viewtopic.php?f=18&t=3087 Or you want the Windows 7 Pearl orb and Start text next to it?

Funny thing is, I already made a button kinda like this ( http://www.classicshell.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=4410 )

Is that what you're after?

EDIT: Now that I think about it, they aren't as close as I thought. So here, have a proper answer to your request:

Also, this button was actually a great idea - seems I'll be using it myself for a while .-.

I think the search box will go away if you disable the WSearch service. There may also be a group policy setting for it.

If you go to "Turn Windows features on or off", and uninstall Windows Search, then the search box will go away from the Windows 7 Start Menu.
