I have a problem with the Start Button, but was not allowed to search for any issues with the start button because teh words "start" and "button" are too common.

I am unable to get rid of the Win7 Start Button, which overlaps the Classic Start Button. I am able to see both buttons at once.

Does anyone have a suggestion for how to search for problems with the Start Button, or to resolve the above issue?

Can you show a screenshot?

Make sure that on the "Start Button" tab in Settings, the "Replace Start Button" option is checked.

Some people have reported this with some version of the Nvidia drivers. Make sure you are using the latest drivers, and also disable Surround if it is enabled.

I have only noticed the problem over the past week.

I am using Win7-64 bit, nVidia geForce 7.6.730
Classic shell 4.02

Also note:

the Quick Start Button is missing, and I cannot find where to reinstall it.

Do you use java? For I am also unable to send this notice to this forum using Firefox, v,28. When I try, FF hangs up.

Thanks for your help.

Try the latest version 4.0.4. It tries a bit harder to hide the Windows 7 start button.

The forum software uses PHP, not Java.

Thank you. This seems to have done the trick.

There is no Replace Start Button as you describe above.
