Hello seems cannot figure out how to apply policy for the start menu. I have checked not display Control Panel and applied to the group and seems that never worked. Control Panel shows still on. Although it didn't let user to open it as it is blocked within Windows Components of GPO from Windows policy build in 2012 server. Same seems to be valid for other menu items in start menu like Documents, pictures, music, Help and support, etc.

Thanks

The requirements for these policies say "Requires Classic menu style". The Windows 7 menu style has an explicit item list in the "Menu items for the Windows 7 style" policy.

The start menu has 3 styles - 1 column classic, 2 column classic, and Windows 7. You can switch between them from the "Start Menu Style" tab in the settings.

Some settings apply only to particular styles. When editing the settings using the UI, it hides the settings that don't apply for the current style or OS version.
The policy editor doesn't have such capability to hide or disable particular policies. So the requirements for each setting (which style it applies to, or which OS version) are listed in the description.

@plevko77, I hope you extracted the policy templates from C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\PolicyDefinitions.zip and are not depending on Windows Start Menu policy settings to affect Classic Shell.
