I would like the ability to change the font used on the Classic Start Button (i.e. the font of the word "Start"). It seems to be hard-coded for 8 point Tahoma Bold.

Also a tiny bug report: in StartMenuL10N.ini, the line
Menu.Logoff = &Log Off %s...
should not have an ellipsis, since it does not bring up a dialog box, but just logs you off, no questions asked.

You can create a custom bitmap button and use whatever font you want.

The Log Off text has ellipsis because if you select the setting "Confirm Log Off" there will be a dialog asking you if you really mean to. The text cannot be dynamically changed based on the setting.

Here's a Classic Start button in small and large sizes to get you started. You could erase the text portion and create it with another font.
