Post subject:  Explorer Status Bar - Metadata Display
The explorer status bar used to contain some of the metadata of the selected file. I used this bar to edit the data fields used in the document (subject, comment, date, etc.) Corporate rolled out Win 7 and Office 2013 and now the status bar is a single un-editable line.




Are there any settings in Classic Shell that can restore the data and functionality of the status bar?

The bar you are talking about is called "Details pane". You show it from Organize -> Layout -> Details pane.
The status bar you currently have is in Vew -> Status bar.
