Hi,

Windows 7, Classic Shell 4.1

Since installing Classic Shell 4.1, when scrolling in the navigation pane, I get a problem as displayed in the attached picture, with some of the folders not displaying properly. In the picture, the 'Documents' folder is the example.

I *think*, but can't be sure, that this has only happened since I upgraded from 3.6.8 recently.

Is this a Classic Shell problem and is there a fix please?

I also get a problem when, if I select a folder in the navigation pane, it doesn't remain selected unless I double click it. I don't remember this happening before. Is this also to do with Classic Shell please?

Thanks,

That's most likely because you have some registry hacks to hide Favorites or similar folders. It is not related to Classic Shell.

Yes, have you by any chance used some tool or Registry edits to hide other items like Favorites, Homegroup etc from the navigation pane? That is known to cause this.

Hi,
Hi,

Yes I have hidden Favourites, Libraries and Network in Explorer using entries in the registry, so that would explain that, thanks.

What about the other problem I mentioned, with needing to double-click a folder in the navigation pane to select it?

Thanks for your help,

This doesn't sound normal.

Temporarily disable Classic Explorer to see if that is related. Basically do the opposite of what's explained here: http://classicshell.net/faq/#explorer_toolbar

Hi,

I did that and the behavior went back to normal, i.e., clicking once on the folder in the navigation pane, did select it.

I re-enabled the Classic Explorer Bar and ExplorerBHO Class Add-ons and the problem returned.
The problem can be seen in the picture below, where the folder colour is not dark blue.

In the other picture, I have double clicked on the 'Windows 7 Upgrade' folder and it has expanded itself, and it also says 'Searching for items...' in the status bar.
Does this help?
Thanks,
