Post subject:  Navigation pane, scroll target folder into view, problem

Opening WinExplorer at a specific folder via a shortcut on Start menu ... Navigation pane does not scroll the target folder into view. :?

WinExplorer >> ClassicShell Settings >> Navigation (tab)
[ ] Fix folder scrolling ... is always BOLD, irrespective of True or False setting :?:
... AND ... changing the setting does not improve the navigation-pane scrolling into view, behaviour.
I always reboot between setting changes.

I have noticed after a reboot the target-folder is not visible until WinExp is closed and the shortcut run again ... opens WinExp with the target folder (in navigation-pane) scrolled up about 2 folders from the bottom.
- it can be manually scrolled to top of navigation pane, so its not the limit of the folder tree that holds the target folder at the bottom of nav-pane.

I have two shortcuts (identical "Target" and "Start in")
1. runs at Startup ... (on Start > Programs > Startup > WinExp-shortcut)
2. on Start menu ... (WinExp-shortcut)

Target:= C:\Windows\explorer.exe /e, "C:\George\Desk++\Hangover-Tasks"
Start in:= "C:\George\Desk++\Hangover-Tasks"
- without "C:\Windows\explorer.exe /e," (incl /e," parameter), Navigation pane hi-lites "Favorites" folder.
- note the intended use of path strings wrapped in quotes, (but no spaces in the folder paths)
- I have discovered string-syntax is just as important in "Start in" as in "Target", including wrapping in quotes even when no spaces in path.
- ultimately the quote characters are deleted automatically by Windows. :?

I want to view the contents of the specified folder in WinExplorer at Startup with the folder hilited in navigation pane.
- it is very irritating when I have to scroll the target folder into view.
The WinExp "Address" bar contains the correct path ... but screen refresh does not correct anything.

Double clicking any sub-folders in Files/results pane does not scroll the navigation pane item into view either.

I appreciate this bug is a Win7 problem but I assumed "Fix Folder Scrolling" setting would resolve the problem.

I would appreciate any guidance ... thank you :)

Once you change any setting it becomes bolded. That is normal. To unhold it, right click and choose Set Default.

"Fix folder scrolling" is only supposed to fix this specific problem (that the navigation pane scroll bar jumps up when a folder is expanded): http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind ... ffbbd0e998

You could try the command line:
C:\Windows\explorer.exe /root, "C:\George\Desk++\Hangover-Tasks"
