Can someone make me an up button that looks like Windows XP's? I've tried to do it myself, but I can't get all of it's states to blend together cleanly. Thanks in advance.

You mean something like this? (Download the ZIP file, image is just a preview)

Yeah, but more like this, with the "3D" border:

That style of button is easier to add to the Classic Explorer toolbar, not to the title bar. In fact, there is one built-in for the toolbar. You can just change its icon. It will also be usable on future versions of Windows after Windows 7, such as Windows 8/8.1 where Classic Shell does not add the Up button to the title bar.

Yeah, I know. But what I showed you doesn't transition well between states; things look off. Can you edit it to make it more presentable?

I don't understand. If you add the Up button to the toolbar (not the title bar), you already get the same effect which you are asking for. It is not possible to change the toolbar effect of buttons.

I know how to add it to the toolbar, but when I do it looks off, like all of the icons aren't perfectly lined up with each other. I was hoping someone could make them look right together.

So as I understand, you want the to add the XP style Up button to the toolbar, and not the title bar? That requires just one icon without the 3D border, not multiple states.

The various icons (Normal, Pressed, Hot and Disabled) state are only required if the button is to be added to the title bar (to the left of the address bar).

So do you have or know of an XP style up button with multiple states for the title bar?

I made one but not sure if it's what you wanted. It's hard to make one with the border for the title bar Up button because the background will need to blend in with the Aero glass color.
