Before I updated to ClassicShell 4.0.4 I had some tweak that I don't remember how to get it back. But the update removed it apparently. BTW this has nothing to do with the "folder jump" bug. Before the update from 3.x.x: When opening a folder shortcut to a specific folder, the navigation pane on the left would only display the one relevant root folder of my current location under the drive letter, expanding the sub-folders under that root folder down to my current location. But it would very neatly hide all the non-relevant root folders unless I manually clicked on the + next to the partition/drive. Only then would it show the rest of the root folders of that drive in the navigation pane. After update to 4.0.4: But now whenever I open a folder shortcut, the navigation pane expands the drive to show ALL the root folders regardless, not just the one I'm in. Creating quite a clutter in the navigation pane if you have a drive with 50+ root folders. I very much enjoyed that tweak, but I do not remember if it was part of the older version of CS or another tweak I did separate. Any ideas? edit: Show all folders in Folder Options is unchecked and Auto expand is checked. But it has always been this way. Changing these settings does not affect what I am referring to. |

Classic Shell does not control which folders get expanded. Show a screenshot of what is happening right now. |

Yeah sorry I did not include a screenie. I thought the description would be enough. And yes I thought it wasn't a tweak from CS but I wasn't sure where I got it. https://imageshack.com/i/mv0g8gj Example: I have a folder shortcut to my World of Tanks folder. When I used to open in before, it would only display and expand the World of Tanks folder in the navigation pane under my H: drive. Then it would only show the rest of the root folders if I clicked on the + next to the H: drive. But as you can see, it is automatically showing them all now when I open the shortcut. Show All folders is currently unchecked. Checking it would make it worse by expanding a bunch of other folders as well. Automatically Expand to Current Folder is checked. That's what I want it to do. If I uncheck it then it doesn't expand anything. Neither of these settings have been changed. Only after the CS upgrade did this start happening. That's why I originally thought it was a CS feature. But nothing relevant is in the settings. |

The only setting that I can think of from your problem description which you may have changed accidentally is the Navigation pane style. Open Classic Explorer Settings and change Navigation Pane Style to Windows XP Classic or Windows Vista style. Then close and reopen the Explorer window. |

I don't think there is a mode in Explorer where it can expand one root folder but not show any other root folders. The closest you can get is if you uncheck "Automatically Expand to Current Folder", but then even your root folder won't show in the navigation pane. |

Well, the new version doesn't have "Windows XP Classic" or "Windows Vista". The 3 options are Classic, Classic with 2 columns, and Windows 7 style. I have Classic with 2 columns selected. |

The new version has everything the old had and more. You are probably opening Classic Start Menu settings instead of Classic Explorer settings. |

Nah, I made sure I was looking in the right place. But thx tho. I'll figure it out eventually. I definitely know it's not a setting from CS tho. Something about Windows Explorer in the registry I remember now. It would hide all root folders except the current until you navigated elsewhere. I just have to find the tweak. I must have saved it somewhere. I always keep copies of the tweaks I use. But it's been so long since I discovered it, I just can't remember what it's called that's all. |
