There is a problem in Windows 7 with the Microsoft windows explorer:
On windows explorer i select some files in a folder.
The selected files are colored
in blue.
Then I change the sort order.

The selection i made is lost!!!
(XP kept the selected files colored and selected after sorting)

My question: Does Classic Explorer solve this problem?

No Classic Explorer cannot solve this problem. This issue cropped up in Windows 7 where selection started to get lost as soon as files were sorted. However if you use the third party tool, Folder Options X: http://free-sk.t-com.hr/T800soft/softwa ... ptions.htm (enable any of its first 3 options), it forces Explorer to use the older ListView control which preserves selection after sorting. In Libraries, it has no effect but outside of Libraries, selection is preserved after sorting when the ListView control is used.

Note: Any recommendations of third party tools is only to help you. Classic Shell bears no responsibility for anything that happens from use of those tools.

I would like to add :
I have some PCs. One at least will stay XP as long as this problem is not solved.
I have thousands of photos and videos and this stupid behavior of Windows 7 is driving me crazy.
How could MS be so stupid to take out one of the best features of the XP files-manager?

Microsoft has been stupid about a lot of things in Windows 7 when it comes to the Windows Shell. Quality going down very fast.
