Epson printer software installation installs itself on "Classic Toolbar" (somehow via the WinExplorer) :(

I hide the "Custom Toolbar" because the Epson control is red and ugly and I don't use it
If Classic Toolbar could be rid of the c**p, I would like to make full use of "Classic Toolbar"

Thank you :)

Can you show a screenshot? I doubt that it installs a button onto the Classic Explorer toolbar. What it may be doing is adding its own toolbar. You can disable it from Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Programs tab -> Manage Addons.

Thank you GauravK for your response, :)

Just discovered there is an Epson toolbar BUT ... looks like an Epson problem to me ?
And the "E-Web Print" does not do anything .... :?

To view "Custom Toolbar" I have to select "Easy Photo Print"

MORE ...

To add to the confusion ...
I use Firefox Browser.
• No Epson Addon or Extension
• E-Web Print ... (is "Disabled")

I never use Internet Explorer, prefer other browser "PaleMoon"

Looked at Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Programs tab -> Manage Addons.
Appear on "Manage Addons" in this order

Seiko Epson Corporation (Not verified)
Easy Photo Print (listed x2) both DISABLED

Ivaylo Beltchev
Classic Explorer Bar ... Enabled
ExplorerBHO Class ... Enabled
Classic IEBHO Class ... Enabled

Seiko Epson Corporation
E-Web Print (listed x3) all DISABLED

It is 7am here I will contact Epson by phone this morning to try and get help.
Their track record in my experience is not very good

I will keep you informed of outcomes.

Due to a bug in Windows, sometimes File Explorer gets confused between installed addons, especially when there are multiple addons and one of the addons is updated or uninstalled & reinstalled. To fix this, open Registry Editor (Regedit.exe), go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\ShellBrowser and delete the ITBar7Layout value.

Thank you GauravK for your dedication to the cause, :D
... I had already applied "my fix" when your notification arrived -- your fix looks less nerve racking than mine.

I had some success too.
After 6 hours of working on this irritation Epson insisted it was a Microsoft problem..
Epson installation provide no custom install :?
I was not prepared to pay for Epson created c--k-p
!!

MY FIX:-
With careful consideration of 9 installed Epson apps ..... decided to uninstall "Epson Easy Photo Print2"
after one failed attempt in User account with (free) Revouninstaller > RClicked > Run as Administrator -- no resolution
Rebooted and Epson toolbar was back -- there was no prompt to delete DLL files during uninstall as User

This worked ...
Logged off as User
Logged in as Administrator
- MUST be in Administrator Account (not User nor "Run as Administrator")
Uninstalled "Epson Easy Photo Print2" with Revouninstaller
Ignored restart option ... (I was using Revouninstaller)
Deleted DLL files when prompted
Rebooted PC
Problem fixed :lol:
---------

GauravK's fix

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\ShellBrowser
Name:= ITBar7Layout
Value:= < delete the value >
- in fact I ...
Copied "ITBar7Layout" to clipboard
Renamed "ITBar7Layout" as "o_ITBar7Layout" ..... allows me to reinstate if necessary
... then ...
Created new "Name"
Name:= ITBar7Layout
Type:= REG_Binary
Value:= <left as default>

Very much appreciate your help :)
