I tried the Full Glass, Smoked Glass & Windows Aero. I rebooted...no joy! I installed this app because the screenshots all over the net imply that this app can implement a hybrid Aero theme on all Windows 8 windows. Please tell me what I'm doin' wrong or am I misunderstanding the capabilities?

No, it doesn't. The Aero or Glass are just names for skins. They are designed to work with the Aero theme. The Aero skin doesn't enable the Aero capabilities when you use it on Windows 8, just like the Metro skin doesn't enable Metro capabilities when you use it on Windows 7.

Just to be clear. I wasn't expecting Aero capabilities...but Aero look alike windows (i.e., Vista type Min, Max Close buttons, and semi-transparent window borders.) Where does one find these Aero-like dressing (per Classic Shell advert screenshots)?

There is a project at MSFN forum that is only meant at the moment for experienced Windows users. It's in beta at the moment and doesn't even have an installer: http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/161788- ... -win8-rc4/ Use at your own risk (note that at the moment it also shows timely nags which the author said will be removed once it reaches 1.0 stage). Btw that project restores the Aero glass effect to the chrome of windows. If you are after the Vista/7 style glossy caption buttons, those can be obtained by installing a modified visual style (theme) for Windows 8.
