Title says it all. I updated to the latest version and can't seem to be able to find the option to enable classic shell to boot straight to the desktop. Am I missing something? I did a search in the forums and was not able to find the answer.

Thanks in advance guys.

The option is unavailable for Windows 8.1, because there is one built-in already.

Installed V3.6.8 running under Windows 8.1 Beta. Sluggish.

Went back to version V3.6.7 and everything is OK again. Snappy.

Set 'Start Menu Style' to Windows 7
Set 'Windows 8 Settings' = Skip Metro Screen, 'Disable active corners' = none.
Set 'Start Button Look' = Metro Button, checked 'Enable Start Button'.

Works fine, I'm happy with 3.6.7 version.

Version 3.6.8 - The whole thing is sluggish with Windows 8.1 Beta. For example, when I run Excel or Word 2013 it takes a while to get to the main screen - takes several seconds - about 6 seconds or more.
Windows Explorer was also sluggish - in fact everything - even the menus.

With Version 3.6.7 - Excel/Word 2013 main page display almost instantaneously - OK, let's say a second.

That's strange. There are not many differences between 3.6.7 and 3.6.8. None that should affect Office, anyway. Can you see in the Task Manager or Process Explorer which process takes most CPU during the slowdown?

I didn't use the task manager or the process explorer as I immediately went back to the older version.

With the new version, it's more accurate to say that there's considerable delay when starting a program - after the initial delay, program seems to work normally.

Windows 8.1 bug(s) maybe?

Just to clarify: I saw some people on the web in other forums saying we have "sold our soul" to MS and started removing features as well. That's why Boot to Desktop and Metro Start button are gone. :P Boot to Desktop is gone only for Windows 8.1 as it has that option built-in, it remains for Windows 8. And the Metro Start button can be downloaded from the forum, Microsoft made us remove it for legal/trademark reasons.
