Just installed Win10 & the came across this forum after another Forum recommended it as I had questions on theirs about the about the so called "Start Menu" for Win10. Now Considering that the person that started "Classic Shell" will no longer be making updates and Win10 updates may make it unusable would it be a smart move & try to add it to my New installation of Win10. I need to do something with Win10 or I will likely go back to Win 7 for a the time it has remaining with updates. I have reasonable skills with a PC as I built this one but that doesn't include programming. Any help on this question would be appreciated.

Thanks

Chances are pretty high that it will work just fine with your current version of windows 10; there are a few people reporting issues, but they really seem to be the minority thus far.
What we cant say is if the next major release will work, or break compatibility for everyone.. and if it doesn't, chances are a fix won't come out for a while, if at all

Classic shell doesnt modify any core system files (It patches them in memory), so if compatibility breaks, it shouldnt damage your OS in any way (basically any issues caused should resolve themselve when classic shell is uninstalled)
so it isnt particularly 'risky' to install it.

Here is a comparison chart of various classic shell alternatives: http://www.classicshell.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2399
If you just want something similar to the windows 7 experience, you shouldnt have a problem finding a menu that is 'good enough'

What version are you running? I've just installed Classic Shell 4.3.0 on a Windows 10 version 1709 system and it's working ok.
