For Windows Aero Theme, the Taskbar/Toolbars at screen bottom work best for me with the black backcolor. The icons show much better. Well done.

However, switching to Window's Classic Theme shows only the default light tan color, which tends to wash out icon details on my 23" 1080p monitor.

Is there any hope of changing the Classic Taskbar/Toolbars to a darker color? I have Stardock's WindowBlinds app available, and wonder if it will work without crashing Classic Shell. Does anybody have any insights into what could be done to control taskbar color? I would be willing to give WindowBlinds a shot if I can get good guidance for tests.

The High Contrast theme makes the taskbar black. Is it not suitable?

High Contrast themes make all backcolors black, which is unacceptable to my aging eyes. Sorry about that.

On my HP w2338h monitor, the "bottom screen washout problem" is actually narrow viewing angles. For example, if I move the Taskbar to screen top, there is no washout problem, and Toolbar icon contrast is totally acceptable. For me, however, this is not a good idea, as many developers hard code to a screen bottom Taskbar; plus, I would have to rewrite all my mouse macros for a screen top Taskbar, because the screen coordinates of all clickable objects get changed (they move down).

So, I'm back to square one on this. If there is a way to control Taskbar backcolor independently of all other display backcolors, as you have done in Windows Aero, I'll send another, larger, Contribution your way.
