Has anyone or does anyone know how the Win8.1 update will affect Classic Shell...I know I'm early as the first release just came out today, but was curious if I install Classicshell now and then get the Win8.1 update (which will come out in Oct. officially) how either might or might not affect the other?

I have it on a VM.

I disabled Classic Shell from startup before doing the 8.1 preview. Installed (the install went fairly smoothly) 8.1 Preview.

Started it up, saw the "ha, ha, we're just going to dump you back in Metro" not-really-start button. Dug through to find the Classic Shell. Start it and... nothing.

Bring up the task manager - the service and program are running. Just not visible.

So, right now, I'd say "Broken - but not unexpected. Wait for the inevitable update from CS."

The latest 3.9.x RC and the upcoming stable release 4.0 fully and officially support Windows 8.1 RTM.
