Thanks! Upon looking closer in the settings for the Classic Start, I simply assigned the Windows key to open Metro. I don't have a touch screen so I have little use for Metro, but it's comforting to know it's available.

I do prefer the Classic Start, but now and then I'd like to open Metro in W8. Only way I've foind to do this is to open an app, then drag the app down to the bottom and lo! metro appears. But is there any way to just call it up? |

Yes there is. Either Shift+click on the Start button. Or press Shift+Win key. Or create a shortcut to "C:\Program Files\Classic Shell\ClassicStartMenu.exe" -togglenew Additionally, the Controls tab in Start Menu Settings will let you configure what mouse clicks and Windows key combinations open what. |
