Hello, Many thanks for the hard work on classic shell, i am having trouble with a upgraded machine from windows 8 to Windows 10, in these machine, i decided to remove classic shell, but after rebooting the machine, it hangs on a black screen with mouse cursor, the login screen is ok, but after that it keeps hanging no matter if i use the safe mode.

I have readed the other topics, but in my case i cant enter to safe mode. please i need help, i am working on a web site, and i have only these machine to work on.

Try installing Classic Shell again, then reboot, then uninstall it again.
You can do all of that from Task Manager's File -> New Task.

I have used ctrl alt del, then start task manager to manage to install and then uninstall classic shell, and vuala, i am posting this on my windows 10 laptops, thanks for the support.

I just posted the answer for any other person that need it.

I had/have this same problem, but didn't have any idea what was causing it. If it happens again, I will try uninstalling Classic shell.

@brad1138, you are consistently getting a black screen with only a mouse pointer and nothing else upon reboot?

No, it happened twice during the multiple restarts I had as I was installing Windows 10 (clean, and other software) on my daughters computer. It hasn't happened in a few days now, it started starting up perfectly after the latest significant update installed.

The issue of windows 10 black screen with cursor is mainly caused because of incompatibility of the graphic driver with windows 10 since it was a huge update on Microsoft's part. Updating the graphic drivers is one way to resolve the issue and as per your post you have already done it. Another solution is that if you have two graphic cards, you disable the onboard one. Let me know if this helps you out.
