I installed Classic Shell 4.3.0 on Win10 last September. It worked perfectly. However, a week ago all the icons disappeared from my wife's account. Names of programs were still there, and the programs ran, but no icons and no 'properties' (Right click - 'properties'). My account and the Admin account were both ok. I have run various checks and all my Windows files seem to be in order. I then wondered whether it was related to ClassicShell as it seemed to be related to Windows Explorer. I tried to uninstall Classic Shell, got various error messages, but then used the original ClassicShell 4.3.0 and seem to have uninstalled ClassicShell alright. The desktop icons did NOT reappear. I then reinstalled ClassicShell 4.3.0, only to find that all icons have disappeared from my account too (Admin still alright!). If I view C:\users\myfilename\desktop in the Admin account, all the icons apper alright, so it must presumably be a problem in the Windows Explorer associated with my and my wife's accounts. I presume that this must be due to some setting in the registry, but I don't know what that might be. Any help would be urgently appreciated. Thanks.

You can be 100% sure that desktop icons are not affected by the Classic Shell software in any way. There is some other issue with your PC. Contact Microsoft support.
