(Style Windows 7, midnight)
Hello
In my machine, start menu height takes the whole screen height
In my wife's (Classic shell installed yesterday), it takes only the half of the screen height

What parameter must I modify, please, thks (I have not found)

Several things affect height/size
Usually though its system DPI or resolution. (both things that are changed on the Operating system independent of classic shell
You can override the system DPI in classic shell however, by right clicking the start button going to settings, typing DPI into the searchbox, then picking a value (100 is the minimum size)
If its resolution, the only thing we can do are modify the icon, and font sizes.
To modify icon size; from the classic shell settings type 'icon' and adjust 'large icon size' and 'small icon size'
Font is a bit more complicated, so we can go that route if even more space is needed

Absolutely not !!!
It doesn't solve anything !

I solved the pb by : settings, main menu, and I modified 'maximum recent programs' (from 10 to 15)
It was not necessary in my other machine : it is set to 10 and the height has been always correct

Thanks however

The different reaction in the two machines is explanable (cf. above)
I have pinned programs in my CS start menu, my wife's doesn't have
