From http://www.classicshell.net/faq/, can you expand on the idea of how to go about "Before you can continue you must repair that file first. You do that by running the installer for the same version you currently have, with the following command:
ClassicShellSetup.exe /fv %MSI%

How do I go about download a same, in this case an earlier version, and running that?

Thanks

which ever version you had previously, go to this page and download the installer for it: http://sourceforge.net/projects/classicshell/files/

now I THINK you can just create a shortcut to the file, and add the " /fv %MSI% "part to the end of the location. them run that file..
If that doesnt work youll have to open command prompt. naviagate to the folder you saved the installer in, and
to navigate on with command prompt type: cd *location you saved the installer*
Example: cd C:\Users\Name\Downloads
then type ClassicShellSetup.exe /fv %MSI%
