I just downloaded Classic Shell and am glad to see familiar things. Was hoping to get rid of Metro screen and the annoying charm bar. I have skip Metro screen checked and disable active corners - All. I still get the metro screen and password on startup and occasionally get a random charm bar. Any suggestions on what I may not have configured correctly?

some times classic shell fails to skip metro UI, try this tool and see if it helps, as it uses a different method to achieve the same effect:

and this link shows you how to automatically log in without typing your password (NOTE: obviously this means that others with physical access to your computer can get to your files..)

To automatically logon and skip the logon screen which asks for password, type Netplwiz into Win+R (Run dialog). Select your user account and uncheck the box "User must enter a user name and password to use the computer". Type the password twice to confirm. Now Windows should auto logon.

The occasional Charms bar that pops up may be because of your laptop's touchpad drivers. See this post on how to disable them: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=54#p357
