Been using classic shell for a while on desktop & laptop. Now 4.25 both with most current win 10. Installed all that comes with it. I am just trying to keep it simple just using the simple settings, 1 column, no animations etc. Both have the rectangular start button.
When I left click on the desktop I have to wait like 15or more. It gets really annoying waiting for the hourglass to finish doing something. Then the ability for it to be immediate if I subsequently left click on it to open another program "last" for a short time after that. But after a while it does the long hourglass thing. This doesn't happen on the laptop.
I compared the class shell setting and don't find any difference.

Any thoughts on how to fix this. I read through a lot of post and tried several of those suggestions.

Oh, uhm, I've just posted something in another thread without seeing this one.
You could try the advices given in this thread and see if it improves?
