Love this program. I have it on Server 2012 and its great. But...
On my start menu - in All Programs - there are these entries: Documents, Pitures, Search, and Apps
and i can't get rid of them ! ! ! ! !

under Customize Start Menu i have "Dont display" for Docs, Pics but it doesnt make a difference.

I have version 4.2.5

Any help please.

P.S. This forum isnt working properly either - its been really difficult to enter this message. Some sort of textbox? keeps appearing and makes life VERY difficult. FYI.

If you are using Internet Explorer for this forum, it has some issues which editing text difficult. Add the site to Enterprise mode or Compatibility view.

Since you have something called "All Programs", then you are using the Windows 7 style.

To remove "Apps" uncheck "Show Metro apps" from the Main Menu tab in the settings.

Everything else in the All Programs list is a shortcut that exists in your Start Menu folders. You can either delete the ones you don't want or hide them. If you delete them, there is a chance some installer or some Windows update will put them back.

@Gaurav: thanks for the tips there.

@Ivo: thanks. your tip worked for getting rid of "apps"
But I still cant get rid of Documents, Pictures, and Search (I want to keep the SearchBox, but I don't need the link to sidebar-search)

From what I've experienced, the Customize Start Menu does not make any differences. (yes, I've chosen Start Menu Style = Windows 7)

Update: I've tried the other menu styles (classic, classic with 2 columns), and ticked, unticked pretty much every option, logged off between changes, etc. etc.
And in all the styles i'm still stuck with Documents, Pictures, Search in the Programs (or All Programs).
Oh, its Server 2012 r2 datacentre.

Right-click on one of them, select Properties, then check "Hidden".

Thank you.

rightclick - properties - general - tick Hidden
this works for Documents/Pictures

for the Search shortcut, hidden is greyed out. But Rclick-Delete got rid of it.
