Searches for programs just fine, but doesn't work for files. How can I fix that?

classic start menu only searches files/programs contained within it, currently you just have to use a different search method to find files stored on your computer, like agent ranscack or windows built in search functionality when you open up an explorer window

As of the current version 3.6.7, Windows Search integration is not yet available, although we are listening to feedback. But no promises about future features.

Well good news for you. Now the latest public beta version of Classic Shell which is available from the home page has full Windows Search integration. Try it if you are interested.
