 Post subject: How can I fix this?

Out of the blue the arrow icon in the tray the shows the hidden icons is to low. It used to be normal. Now it looks like the one in the pic. I have tried everything to get it back. Any suggestions?

Maybe changing DPI scaling in the display settings? If a system restart doesn't help
It May be related to a 3rd party app that modifies the task-bar (though its not likely its related to classic shell, you can confirm by right clicking the start button and selecting 'exit')

You are correct. I closed classic shell and it did not change. I have tried everything. I can not get it back to normal.

Are you using any custom/third party visual style (Windows theme)?

I am not using a 3rd party theme. Just what comes with Win 8.1. It was find for many months. Then one day that happen.
