If this is a FAQ, please point me in the right direction. I searched but if it's there I missed it.

Classic Shell 4.2.5 on Windows 10, current patches.

No matter what I've enabled both in CS and Windows, no documents ever show up in the (recent) Documents menu. I have it set to track recent items, jumplists are enabled, etc., but still no history of recently opened documents.

What am I missing?

Thanks!

Do you get jumplists on the taskbar?

No, but I have no pinned items on the taskbar if that makes any difference. I'm also using the Classic style menu (Win 95 style). I have the recent documents item on the menu, though, but it's always empty. That's all I want - To just have recently opened documents appear in that menu (only).

Thanks.

Try pinning some programs to the taskbar and see if the jumplists work. If they do, then possibly there is a problem in the start menu. If they don't work, then the problem is in the OS - either a glitch or a setting you are missing.

Recent Items list is still maintained by Windows, it is only shown by Classic Shell. Go to the Settings app in Windows 10 (Win key+i) > Personalization > Start and turn on "Show recently opened items in Jump Lists on Start or the taskbar".

Yep - That was it. For some reason, I hadn't located where the setting was located in Windows 10. Thanks.
