I right click on an item in a folder, or on the folder itself, and expect to see a menu (I guess this is called a context menu?), but all that happens is the little spinning "working" circle keeps spinning, forever. It just hangs. The only way to get it to stop is to close the explorer window. If I exit Classic Shell, then right click works as expected. Restart Classic Shell and it hangs again. Seems like this started with the last Windows 10 update. I'm not sure about that, but it makes Classic Shell kind of hard to keep using. I have Windows 10 version 1511 (OS Build 10586.36). I've never really looked at the Windows 8 or 10 start menu, until today, and really don't want to have to start using it. Please help! |

I don't see anything obviously wrong in the dumps. The start menu is not doing anything at the time. Few things stand out: * There is some activity related to the "Send to" menu. Do you have any suspicious items there? * The version of the system files is shown as 6.2.10586, when it should be 10.0.10586. I don't know why. * There are many shell extensions currently loaded, and some use .NET. .NET is not supported for shell extensions, even though it may appear to work most of the time. I would first see if right-clicking on the same folder in Explorer has the same problem or not. Then I would try disabling some of the shell extensions to figure out which one is causing the problem. |
