The TH2 update (Version 1511/November 2015 Update) brings the Windows 10 Start Menu to Windows Server 2012 R2. Of course, if you use Classic Shell, you get a far superior Start Menu.

is it possible to have a windows 10 start menu look and feel on Windows server 2012 r2, our users are migrating to windows 10, and we will be using citrix on windows server 2012 r2 as well. would have been nice to have similar start menu. |

No menu currently out there emulates the windows 10 start menu, however if you use a start menu replacement like classic shell, you can have the windows 7 style, or classic/2column style on all versions of windows after vista (except ones you cant install things on) |

This is confusing. From what is said here it sounds like you can make the Server 2012 R2 start menu look like the one on a Windows 10 machine. Is that right? Or does it require you to install this "Classic Shell" 3rd party application? |
