When I right click the start button the classic start menu appears as it should. However, as soon as the cursor passes exit the menu disappears. In order to get to the settings I have to go to the Classic Start Menu entry in the start menu itself. Anyone have any suggestions. I've been using Classic Start Menu since its inception quite some time ago and have not had this problem before.

Ivo,
Your question actually contains an answer that is an acceptable work-around. I wasn't aware of being able to use of the arrow keys to traverse the menu. I have always right clicked the start button and then clicked on my menu choice. I'll simply use the arrow keys instead. The mouse is definitely not the problem. Thanks for your help.

If you can open Settings with the arrow keys, something is stealing the focus as you try to mouse over to the context menu, causing it to close.
