Just updated to Windows 10 and reloaded Classic Shell.
As you can see I like to keep my start menu pretty stark. Is there any way I can change the size? It is pretty tall with a lot of wasted space.
Thanks in advance.

You can change the "Minimum menu height" setting in the Main Menu tab to make the menu taller or shorter.
However keep in mind that the tall size lets you see more results when you search for files.

Hmm - I don't seem to have that setting. I'd like to have my menu as tall as possible, so as to have as many items in it as possible. I have set all "number of items" settings high, but the maximum number of frequent programs is stuck at 20. Where can I change this number?

Frequent programs has a limit of 20 in Classic Shell's Start Menu. The menu height setting is only available in Windows 7 style.

Why? Is 20 just an arbitrary limit, or is there some fundamental reason?

I'd very much like an option "expand to available space", i.e. to the top of my screen.

Frequent programs are expensive to calculate, that's why the limit exists.

Starting with Classic Shell 4.2.5, the limit for recent/frequent apps is raised to 40.
